This is ME!
I’ve been blogging since 2008. My first blog was on Blogspot and it worked well for quite sometime, but then after a long blogging-slump I found Tumblr and was impressed by it’s format (and easy iPhone app!) so I made the switch at the beginning of 2010. My Tumblr’s name is a shortened version of the old blog’s name “Just a Bit of Silliness, Really,” which is a favorite quote from the wonderful movie, “Finding Neverland.”
I’m a late-20’s (when did THAT happen!?!?) Kansan, conservative Christian that tries to live a life that honors my Savior. I’m generally laid-back, perky and drama-free. It takes a lot to ruffle my feathers…but not a lot to make me laugh out loud. :)
I’m married to Jeremy and feel blessed about that every day! He’s not perfect, but he’s perfect for me. I’m utterly convinced that God directed us to each other…no…MADE US FOR each other. Because we fit together like puzzle pieces. Cliche’ I know, but sorry, it’s true. :) We’ve been married for 7 years, but we’ve been together since I was 16. Here we are on our wedding day, May 22 2004.

And a little more recently, November 2010:
And this one from our trip to New Zealand in Autumn 2011:

We don’t have kids or baby-makin’ plans…and we’re both perfectly content with the situation. I know we’ve got people scratchin’ their heads (maybe even FRUSTRATED) since we’re not following the typical marriage formula, (we’ve been married SEVEN YEARS and don’t have kids?!?! What the heck?!?) but we’re ok with that. Not sure what will happen in our future…but at PRESENT we are happy as clams just being a fancy-free twosome.
Well, we’re technically not really a twosome because we count our three doggies as members of the family. Seriously, it’s a little sad how much we love these dogs. But they bring us so much love and joy on a daily…no HOURLY basis…we can’t help ourselves. :) (L-R: MoJo the Alaskan Klee Kai, Wrigley the Terrier mix, Cubby the Tibetan Spaniel mix. (If you like dogs, you may want to follow my doggie bloggie - A Bit Of Fluffiness!

I work at a vet clinic and absolutely LOVE MY JOB. I’m the “Customer Care Assistant” (aka: receptionist), meaning I get to weigh-in and love on the animals without having to participate in any of the icky or painful stuff. *haha* We’re a fairly small clinic, so I’ve quickly become on a first-name basis with many of our clients. I just love it!
After Jeremy and I got married in 2004, I gradually began putting on weight…then losing it…then putting it on again. I have lost 25lbs and am 5lbs away from my “goal weight.” (Which would actually be 5lbs heavier than that wedding picture! But I’d be ok with it!) So much of my blog is about tracking my journey toward a healthier me.
I’m pretty old-fashioned. I was raised on music from the Oldies station and black & white movies. As a child, I thought Gene Kelly, Doris Day & The Monkees were THE hot stuff. :) I hadn’t even heard many songs from 80’s until I met my husband in the late 90’s. *haha* Going along with that “old-fashioned”I’m sort of a goody-two shoes. I don’t drink, smoke or swear and I’m (probably overly) modest.
Favorite stuff:
- Movies (seriously, we see a lot of them!)
- Music (almost anything, but I don’t care much for most country - there ARE exceptions - or grungy gansta rap.)
- Traveling & road trips
- Zumba (it’s a dance-aerobics class - I’m OBSESSED!)
- Amusement Parks & rollercoasters
- Game nights
- Sleeping. (Yes sleeping. Don’t judge!)
- Netflix marathons with Jeremy
- Days spent with my family
- Animals! Dogs in particular, but I also love tigers and foxes.
- BRIGHT colors!
- IKEA
- Mountains, trees, rolling hills
- Retro images & decor, particularly 50’s & 60’s
- New York City
- New Zealand
- Reading, although I’ve only recently picked up this hobby
- Scrapbooking and paper crafts (whenever I actually get around to it, which isn’t often I’m afraid!)
Here are some pictures of me over the past few years…also an interesting study in “Look How Much Sarah’s Hair Has Changed.” ;)
